Provider FAQs

What are the minimum qualifications you are looking for in providers?

All of our care providers must have:
– A minimum of three valid, positive references given by phone, at least two of which must be from paid work experience.
– Proper work authorization documents and a willingness to be paid on the books.
– Pediatric CPR certification or willingness to complete one after signing up with Apiari.
– At least 2 years of paid experience caring for newborns and infants (night nanny positions)
– At least 1 year of paid experience caring for toddlers aged two and up or older children. (Care providers for children older than one year only)

I’m under 18 years of age. Can I still apply?

In short, yes. However, we require parental consent for you to join.

If you are interested, please complete your profile here and we will send your parents a consent form.

What’s your interviewing process?

All applicants must apply via our online application form. You will need to supply two professional references.

How do I pick up assignments?

During your account setup, we will ask questions to help you set up your job preferences.

Once you set your Apiari work availability, our proprietary data platform will automatically match you to families based on your skill set, preferences, and availability.

You will receive a text message to confirm any interview and booking requests.

Is there a fee to join?

To be matched to new clients and job opportunities, you must join our Apiari Premium Jobs Platform subscription plan at $29.99/month.

Once your work calendar is filled up, you can still use our platform to manage your sessions and payments with existing clients via our Payment Tools. A 10% processing fee for all payments processed through our platform will be deducted.

How and how often do you pay?

We pay once a week via an app called Zelle, which accommodates most major U.S. banks. If you don’t have Zelle, we can work with you to find another payment solution.

How do taxes work?

All care providers at Apiari are currently independent contractors or “1099” workers. This means that we do not withhold taxes, but you will get a Form 1099 from us after year-end that will allow you to prepare your own taxes.

What are the perks of working at Apiari?

1. Reduce your job search and admin time by 95%! We will take care of your profile, documents, job search and payments. Some families will want an initial phone interview with you, but we will have done most of the leg work. Any trials you do with clients will be paid.

2. Don’t like a client? Just tell us. We understand that people don’t get along for various reasons. As long as we think you’re doing good work, we will help you find other clients who might better fit you. Avoid uncomfortable conversations and situations and let us deal with it.

3. Have the flexibility to work when you want to. We don’t mandate your work hours. We ask that after you have accepted an assignment, you stick with it (or give us at least 24-hour notice before canceling).

4. Have access to an Apiari team dedicated to making your work experience a happy one. We understand that work can be challenging and are here to help you overcome those challenges.

What will my hours be?

You set your own hours. Set your own rates! Our platform only matches you to opportunities based on your availability on the system.
